and whenever they try to potray a "north eastern" character, they bring in a SEA actor to play it. Honestly, there's enough population in North East India already. Is it really that hard for them to cast someone who actually represents the group?

That was a joke. Bollywood doesn't adequately represent a wide range of skin tones and ethnicities across our own subcontinent. Hence Bts being bollywood actors are so far out of reach that it cannot be interpreted in any other way.

I'm pretty sure OP was talking about promotions such as what they do for Tokopedia and Smart not signing with a label or acting in a movie.

We have flipkart which is similar to Tokopedia.

Flipkart promotes itself as an Indian brand for Indians. It would not make sense for a foreigner to promote their company.

BTS have survived lots of racist incidents, they'll survive Indians' racism too.
