Changed the title of the thread from “16 year old black girl shot by police after calling them for help” to “Trigger warning: More police violence”.

    Too fucking much

You should know how I feel about police brutality and racism by now, but this one is not a good example of either.

She was trying to stab another person, potentially killing that person. Stabbings aren't a joke. People have died from being stabbed and there was no way to save them because once they bleed out, they bleed out.

There's no reason why race should be brought up in this. The only reason her race and age are brought up so much is media sensationalism.

The cop told the girl to calm down. It should be common sense by now that you shouldn't attempt to kill another person in front of a cop. You know what would happen if you did.

  • This was posted before the bodycam footage was released. I just delivered the news since I found it ironic it happened the day of Chauvin’s conviction plus the initial story they were trying to go with was somewhat believable but now that all of the info is out, the story of what they were going with looked absurd.

If anything this should be a reason to not side with the media without gathering the facts so that’s my L :clown:

Chauvin’s verdict brought out the emotional side of people rather than the rational.

I'll say this. The cop should have used a taser, but in a situation like this, when someone's life is on the line, it's difficult to blame. Should there be changes made? Yeah, probably.

But I don't think it's fair to bring race into this. It's not like he targeted the whole group and shot at every single one of them. He specifically aimed for the one about to stab someone.
