Who else misses colorful kpop?

I really miss the kpop concepts from 2nd generation/early 3rd generation, the more catchy, simple and fun kpop. I guess we can blame the success of groups like Blackpink for the development and a bit ironicaly maybe indirectly the success of 2NE1.

I miss something like dumb dumb by redvelvet.

It does seem they've shifted away from vibrant aesthetics. There seems to be less vibrant MVs and concepts. I think a 5th gen group would be wise to add more of it for a comeback. Also, it would be cool if a group aims for something like the Oh My Girl MV below. I think this is perfect where you have catchy and bright song with an MV to match it's vibe

I’m nostalgic for it but I really like Twice’s grown up concept more these days. If they ever decide to something cute again then I will also enjoy that but it has to be something they decide to do themselves.

yeah, I missed the times when we got lots of these kinds of songs.

Even when I checked nugu groups, I didn't see much of this at all this year. Maybe I missed something?

Same. You are not gonna like me saying this but I think its just us getting older and I include myself in this. They had the ISAC 2025 games few weeks back and I had no idea who 50% of the groups. Same the aesthetics, colours and sounds. It started with gen 4, a lot of them merge together with similar sounds. Why people likes New Jeans so much even though we saw this style in the 90s it felt different these days to the rest.

It's interesting that the colors pop in the MV. On surface the MV seems simple, but the way they make colors pop with clothing, background painting, vibrant objects, bright filter, etc. With current MVs they will go with more grey and not have MV pop like this.

I haven't watched this MV in awhile, but this seems like a MV companies should review in how to make colors pop.

What I miss is QUALITY, not just COLORFUL MVs.

There were a LOT of colorful MVs but not many of them were good songs.

It took me quite a long time before I started getting into Gen 4 music, but then Gen 5 already started.
