5th gen gg music much better than 4th gen in 2025

    I feel like you’re phrased this question wrong, your title says big 4 groups but I think you are meaning 5th gen representatives from the big 4


    Because I would argue all of these groups have seniors that are performing better

    I dunno. You still need to have that Next Level moment. 3rd gen ended 2nd gen when Twice and Blackpink blew up in 2016. 4th gen ended 3rd gen when Aespa blew up in 2021 with Next Level.


    Now it's 2025 and only Illit's debut ended up as a national hit that could have dealt a mortal blow to 4th gen. However, we all know what happened with MHJ sabotage which devastated the group in Korea. Since then, we havent seen a single 5th gen song dominate the way Next Level did, or the way Cheer Up and D4 did.

    I think now, we should consider NewJeans' debut to be that moment. If 5th gen began in 2023, I think it actually began 4 months prior when NewJeans debuted. That was a much bigger event than Next Level, it was more akin to Exo's Growl (which is where I would mark 3rd gen beginning and 2nd gen ending).


    I don't think there's gonna be another moment during the gen that flips the entire industry on its head like the NewJeans debut did.

    Next Level is i think the moment who prove that 4th gen gg were in place


    5th gen GG are currently in the same period than 4th gen gg were after Dalla Dalla

    But Dalla dalla being Magnetic this gen


    We had a big hit but the success of this hit wasn't big enough to switch the attention of the public from 4th gen to 5th gen

    Kinda like in 4th gen DD was successfull but not enough to switch the attention of the GP from 3rd gen to 4th gen


    Cuz the moment Next Level release you could sense this switch

    The song was everywhere, everybody was talking about aespa

    And right after Next Level you could see how the public was giving much more attention to 4th gen GG with 4th gen gg having hits after hits with savage, tomboy, etc....


    In 5th gen we are currently in the same position

    Magnetic was big but it didn't help to switch the attention from 4th gen gg to 5th gen gg

    Most of 5th gen are currently in the " they have potential to have their breakthrough moment soon" but none of them did it


    They need another Next Level kinda song where the success of the song doesn't just summarise by its success on the chart

    But it need to be a song that take korea by storm, a song that you see everybody dance to it, that do well in chart and makes everybody talk about the group and build enough momentum for their cb


    That's the moment koreans will start to pay attention to 5th gen gg
