I just checked and confirmed Drip released 9 months ago. Where the hell is BABYMONSTER?

Why are they being promoted like 9th year BLACKPINK?

I think Baemon underachieved the targets YG set for them. I think YG wanted them to take over after the Hybe GGs were sabotaged, which left a power vacuum, but it was SM's Aespa that captured the GP attention instead of Baemon.
Baemon has been kinda banished ever since and forced to earn their keep outside Korea via tour after tour and concert after concert, you rarely see them in any Korean activities.
-
Don't know. Nor do I trust a YG timeline. What I trust with them are my eyes. And they tell me that BABYMONSTER has as many album drops in 2025 as NewJeans.

Oh okay.
That explains it all then.

Did all the BABYMONSTER fans vanish with their group's plans for new music this year?

They have been on a world tour for most of the year and YG said in one of his stupid announcement videos that they will return with a mini-album on Oct 1st.
They also released their first japanese single Ghost, nothing special but I like it. Hot Sauce is a disgrace. Bit underwhelming year from them but I excuse it because of the tour.

Lmao

You trust that timeline? I don't. And BM are still relative babies. They should RELEASE MUSIC to make the tour really worth the price of admission.
Drip came out on NOVEMBER 1ST
In this girl group economy, YG is going to make fans wait for at LEAST 11 MONTHS between albums?
Yeah, absolutely not.

Yeah, absolutely not.
We’re really trying to cope with some harsh truths on our own. You could see our trust in YG as a coping strategy.

I know the signs of YG girl group coping, because I did it for years with 2NE1. Not to mention his constant promises of "THIS is the year my new girl group will debut", which he broke for literally FOUR years.
I refused to stan BP and now BM, because I will only be fooled once.
But YG claimed to be a changed man when BM debuted. Turns out that was all bullshit as usual

ngl , it’s a good start compared to other YG artists, but I think recent times haven’t been managed well.

No, it's an awful start. YG girl groups historically start their careers with more consistent music releases and then have a horrible drop off after a couple years.
BM, which YG himself vowed would be treated differently, are pacing even WORSE than early BP.
They dropped Hot Sauce single a few months ago.
Come on.

I dont trust it but its the information we were given.
And if Hot Sauce was actually a good song, you probably wouldnt be saying this. But since its basically a throwaway for many people, it feels like they havent released anything.
All I can do is trust what YG said and pray the comeback is better than Hot Sauce, hopefully Rami is back by then.

I came across rumors on Twitter about Rami making a comeback, but I’m not certain about their accuracy. Most importantly, I hope she’s been staying healthy throughout this period.

Babymonster got same amount music in 1 year than Blackpink got in 3 years. What are you talking about?

Hot Sauce could be the hit of the decade and I would still be saying this.
If NewJeans dropped their debut album, Ditto and then NOTHING ELSE for 11 months, by design, I would be annoyed and question my decision to stan them, because it would remind me of how YG manages his girl groups.
MEOVV was marketed similarly to START their careers, but they've been a lot more active since then, and Ella teased another new song is on the way, when Me Me Me just dropped barely a week ago. Teddy learned.
YG never will.
I just find it insane that BM, an active rookie girl group, has as many new album drops in 2025 as NewJeans. Tour or no tour.

"Come on" what?
It's not as if they were totally radio silent.
That single was a blip/sign of their existence.
Also, weren't/aren't they on tour right now??
Yes, I also wish YG was on top of their promotions and music but, apparently, he has his own legal troubles.
Its not good enough. 1 new song in 9 months.

Square One in August 2016
Square Two in November 2016
As If It's Your Last in June 2017
That it's even debatable is exactly my point.
That worked in third generation
It will not work now. I'm also side eyeing the decision to send them on tour so soon.

Let me put it this way
If I was managing BM, they would be the undisputed top 5th Gen Girl Group in K-Pop today. Nobody would even come close.
Throwing them on tour, because the company has lackluster financials, does them a disservice when it comes to establishing them as a K-Pop powerhouse.
A YG girl group must stand out from the pack, not just be one of the girls. They haven't managed that at all.
-
Actually two new songs if you count their Japanese release.

A fleet of producers and this is what we get?
That next album better be a full one. I expect it to drop in 2026 at this rate.
If NewJeans release new music before BM, you all will never hear the end of it from me.
Teddy is learning and adapting.
YG is not.

The tour absolutely is a valid excuse, they were never going to release an album by this time due to the tour. And yes, if Hot Sauce was really good you would not be singing the same tune.
Otherwise I agree. 2024 was a great year for baemon, we got a mini and full album all within a short period. It was really looking like YG knew what to do with the group. Now here we are in 2025, down a member and waiting on a MINI album. The tour was just not a good idea. But they will be releasing music.
If not for having seen them live, Id be a lot more disappointed with this year, especially because 2024 looked so good for them.

Newjeans is on their 4th year now and they have not released single full album yet. I think it is better be silent.

Look, I get it. More than anyone else you talk to here, given how many girl group tours and concerts I go to. They're a ton of fun. But it was premature to throw BM into constant touring, and the reasons YG did so are obviously fueled by the need to improve their declining profit margins and brand value.
I had no criticisms throughout 2024 other than song selection here and there. But after looking at what will supposedly be an 11 month wait gap between albums, that's a disaster.
The girl group market is more saturated than it has ever been, and it's not like BM had an explosive debut or re-debut where they can take these important growth years for granted.
Touring is great for the fans, but even fans would love to have MORE music before spending big on going to a tour. It also does nothing for establishing the group more with the public. When is the last time BM has trended for anything lately? Out of sight, out of mind.
I'm sure people are wondering why I care so much, but again, it's because I've been here before with YG in the past, and I thought MAYBE things would be different with BM. They aren't.
-
I think you should take your own advice, since your critical thinking skills are leaving a lot to be desired, based on how the point of the comparison completely eluded you.
A rising rookie girl group shouldn't have as many album releases in a nearly finished calendar year as a group on a forced hiatus.

Yea it was always clearly a cash grab by YG but I tried to make positive of it. Saw it as an opportunity to meet their fans, demonstrate their touring power, and show off their performance ability. In the end, it has slowed their momentum and likely exacerbated Rami’s illness. They should have kept a similar schedule to 2024 with a mini and full album, and possibly a variety show.
But I really do think if Hot sauce wasn’t Hot garbage, it would have helped keep their momentum until that next album. Because they would have been less out of sight. As far as charting goes, hot sauce basically doesn’t exist.
YG baited me in 2024 only to let me down more than ever in 2025 between BP and BM. But again, at least I saw them both live lol

Indeed and because Rami needed her forced hiatus, it is better wait once she come back, before they come back with album. They did the same last year once Ahyeon was on hiatus and come back with album once all 7 members could participate.
