Hwasa and NMIXX ruled KCON LA 2025 by FAAAAAR!!!

  • Do you agree? 5

    1. No! (3) 60%
    2. Yes! (2) 40%

I don't think there's anything else I can say. Hwasa alone put on a show that more than half the line-up couldn't do as a group. Especially the girl groups, and NMIXX is just another level, honestly. These two moped the floor with everyone.

My rankings of the whole weekend.

  • Honestly, as much as I love Nmixx I don't think they ruled the weekend. I don't see much engagement with their performance. I think the group that was most talked about was IVE, Meovv, and Izna for the wrong reasons. I wasn't there, but based on engagement and performances I've watched I will say IVE and Meovv owned the weekend. Again, I don't think this event is about competition like that.

  • I didn't know hwasa or Nmixx were there

Most of the tweet i saw about Kcon LA were talking about their bad organization for people who got the meet and greet

Or talking about how surprise they were by the loud reaction aespa got

Not surprised by that, I mean the bad organization, but I was surprised that aespa actually sang live most of the time. SM were sleeping that time, probably. 🤣

Since when trending on SNS means anything? I'm talking about their performance, not about trending on Twitter.😂

NMIXX were the only group that sang 100% live with backing track and also dancing at the same time.

    You weren't even there.

    I'll make a thread later.

So? I don't have to be there to understand which performer was the best. I watched the live stream, and it was easy to tell who sang live and who didn't. Most of the performers used LIVE AR (pre-recorded 'live') some, like ZB1 used both LIVE AR and Live singing, and there were groups like NMIXX, i-dle and MEOVV also, Hwasa who sang live with backing track (MR - recorded music) around 90% of the time.

Some groups did have a good performance on stage, like the boy groups, or even Kep1er and IZNA, but most of them didn't sing live.

  • I don't know how the sound was for the streamed stages, but I was there in person last night and the audio mixing was awful. I've been to two MCountdown shows previously (2019 and 2024) and this was by far the worst the sound has ever been. I couldn't even hear the lyrics, which made it hard to tell if I liked songs by the newer groups I was there to learn about. Really frustrating. I think this is my last KCON.

  • Hwasa was amazing but NMIXX no.

MEOVV >>>>>>>>>>>> NMIXX by far because they actually had energy.

MEOVV were great, no denying that, but NMIXX sang much better while dancing.

I still rate this performance higher...

    ...than MEOVV's best!

MEOVV looked more energetic, because they focused more on dancing, and NMIXX focused more on clear vocals. MEOVV were more synchronized, and their swag added some plus, but the overall performance of NMIXX was better FOR ME, because I always prefer vocals to dancing.

To be clear, if MEOVV sing "Abracadabra" live and not lip-syncing, I might rate them higher than NMIXX. Especially because they're rookies.

  • If I want to listen to NMIXX's clear vocals, I can go watch any of their other performances.

But this is a music festival. I don't care if your voice is as cracked as dry skin in the middle of the ice age or if you're focusing or singing or dancing, I want energy and NMIXX didn't give me that.

Well, we both know we have want different things from a performance.

Sure, it wasn't the most energetic NMIXX performance ever, I've seen them doing much more on stage, but a LOT of Kpop group can't even do half of this. Especially on Kcon.

Yeah, but MEOVV had it all. Stable vocals while dancing, little to no backtrack, and ENERGY. They gave me energy and they ruled KCON for me :pepe-shrug:

NMIXX is always good but its hard for me to appreciate live vocals with no energy. There are plenty of groups that can serve energy even while singing a ballad but I fear NMIXX could be singing their most upbeat song yet half the group would still look dull. Love them but sometimes they need to take a step back from the live vocals and deliver a performance that would actually leave a lasting impact on the audience (I know some people appreciate their perfs either way, myself included but sometimes idk)

As I said, I don't disagree, I just liked NMIXX more.

I said this in Yama's thread, at first I wanted to pick i-dle because their stage was fire too.
