My whole family is religious and I am the total opposite of them. The way I have a debate with them is painful
Do you think the corona was man-made?

What? That conspiracy theory is over a year old

viruses can easily kill bacteria. Humans still struggle with bacteria
Humans struggle with viruses as well, much more than bacteria, considering that viruses use our own cells to multiply.

The problem of this lab origin argument, it usually attached with conspiracy theory of being a planned attack or some malicious intent or to make China looks like a bad guy.
Accidents like this happened before and the lab leak angle would be fine if it wasn't attached with such allegations or insinuations. If it was a lab leak, it should be fixed to avoid future leaks. It happened in China before like it happened with other labs around the world from places like UK or any other country that has a lab. Leaks from such labs are sadly a more common threat than it should be as these places are usually under funded. If you read histories of people who work in such labs, it's frightening on how many close calls we had and we just don't know.
These labs are very important to study these dangerous pathogens, viruses, and so on, so risk-benefit is pretty good, but negligence and lack or proper protocols and regulations make them prone to accidental leaks.
Still escapes occur, but the origin would be still nature even if it got some tweaks (as it is needed to analyzing future deadly mutations), so it is a moot point IMO. The malicious angle is troublesome and it just antagonizes China from the wrong reasons. China deserves criticisms, but accusing them of planing this pandemic will just alienate them from fixing problems if it was indeed a lab leak.

Nope. Way too big of a risk for anyone to try to implement it. Knowing how globalization and travel work, it's not as if only one specific country will be affected by it. Thus, all this talk about them trying to sabotage our country is bogus.
If there's any chance it was man-made, it would have been an accident due to researching a cure or something along those lines.

Not the coronavirus. But the covid-19 and the b117

You really have a faith in humanity

I actually don't. We've seen how people fail to work together collectively to defeat this virus. If something worse happened, I don't know if people would put their egos aside for the greater good.

Yes, a conspiracy would only be possible if the most powerful countries in the world were actually working together to depopulate the world by introducing a virus that was only a trojan horse for the real effective method to instantly kill masses of people all at once. But we all know the US and China would never work together, they are enemies.
