You declaring that kpop group’s soloists are not true soloists is actually worse than me declaring my opinion that Taemin’s NGDA is the best solo album!
And IU is not kpop idol, you know that! But regardless it is her best album without a doubt!
It is her most jazzy album too!
It is for sure one of the best albums(especially for real instruments)!
It starts extremely strong, but to the end of the album you get bored. But I can see why you can call it best album by a soloist!

I have no personal opinion on his music. But statistically, the digital charts tell the story, so the probability is high that his fandom overlaps heavily with Shawols.

Yeah he has many shawol fans, but he has a lot of exclusive Taemin fans, which like his music only!
From my experience I can say 60% are Shawols
40% his own exclusive fans!
Why I chose this percentage? Since other member solos get much more smaller attention, compared to him!
He has 3 times more streams than late Jonghyun(he is 2nd most streamed soloist in shinee)
Also he has almost similar sales as Shinee
He gets similar streams during cb as Shinee
So he is as popular as Shinee, which isn’t the case for many soloists from kpop groups!

Kim Sejeing’s album filled with typical Korean ballads, not captivating at all!
I don't what ballads you are listening too.. I don't recollect hearing Celtic beats in Kpop as she had with "Voyage" and "Jenga", I really have to do shazam to find anything similar..
Besides one must be suffering from ADHD to dismiss all ballads in such a manner.
Sure, I did not dig all the songs of the Door Album, but as far as Kpop albums go, it was a top notch listening experience for me, including the ballads.
