I mean, let's rewind the clock one year, and see the streams their EP was doing on spotify USA on its debut:

#10 Super Shy - 1,110,847

#16 Cool With You - 801,008

#20 New Jeans - 801,008

#22 ETA - 727,583

#25 ASAP - 689,494

#32 Get Up - 631,888

From that, to not even be close to enter the top 200 with 4 promoted singles in just 10-11 months, this downfall is generational.

With those numbers you can see hybe was in a damn frenzy and high on their own payola and fraudulent numbers, super shy was putting a whole 1.1M of streams 3 weeks after release, that's higher than any bp song peak there except their collabs with gaga and selena gomez. They got a 36 seconds clip doing more streams than a lot of singles by way more popular artists on the US, the fact that for a amount of time people really tried to convince us a 1 year old rookie was doing those numbers and the chart manipulation by their labels was just a conspiracy theory.

Look now after hybe payola is off, their 4 singles combined probably didn't made 600k streams in their first day on US chart, failed 4 times to enter hot 100, not even close to chart on billboard global 200 like they used to with hybe fraudulent system. Their japan debut is a big flop, their career there has no future, they are retreating to local because that's all they have left now.

You start praying newjeans can even surpass 7 years at the pace they are going with their crumbling career.
