The Hybe system would be better, and today's controversies might have been avoided if Bang Si Hyuk had just focused on Big Hit and didn't interfere with other companies

  • Bang Si Hyuk isn't a CEO, but he's essentially the owner of Hybe and the individual with the most authority in that company. He can essentially dictate the actions of even the CEO of Hybe. So, when he actively engages in other company's groups, participates in their decision-making, and brings a lot of Big Hit staff to work with other companies, the system becomes ineffective. Not only does it create obvious favoritism towards groups that he's heavily involved with, but it also essentially turns the whole system into as Big Hit minions, rather than a few separate companies with their own unique images.

Why not establish divisions similar to those of JYP and SM if he still wants control over every group? It's clear that, besides Min Hee Jin, the other CEOs are merely there for appearance's sake. He's evidently involved not only in producing songs for them; it's just a component of it. Even Pledis didn't escape from him.

He's just another Yang Hyunsuk and Lee Soo Man. His ego is so huge that he wants everyone in Hybe to work with him, boosting his ego, claiming he contributed to each of their successes. But this will create tension among the companies. Min Hee Jin has every right to feel threatened, as Illit has Bang Si Hyuk as their backing, so Nj may be tossed aside at any time.

Honestly, every company would feel safer and this controversy today probably can be avoided if he just stayed in his lane and managed only Big Hit like he supposed to be.

  • You can expand faster with labels instead of divisions. Plus the most powerful music companies in the US, use a label system. The big difference in, labels in the US aren’t handcrafting their artist and overly relying on manufactured styling. Plus there isn’t a standard/archetype groups in western music.

Just like when he bought Pledis, he wants to expand. And it’s easier to expand when you are completely hands off in Day-to-day and let a label run independently. The problem is, you give labels too much freedom, that when you start saying “no” there’s almost a “i don’t need you” mentality that builds SINCE the parent company is so hands-off. Hence the MHJ situation.

Division are better, because they ultimately are under the company structure and have to get approval for resources/money. This labels almost act independently which again, cause the NJ “we aren’t HYBE, we are Ador” mentality.

  • EXACTLY! That's probably one of the most raisonable and intelligent take i read on this forum regarding the matter.

And that's the core issue of all this sh*tshow :meme-grumpy-cat: .

Why sell the independant label model when he was going to take over the sub labels anyway. That's plain deception :cursing:.

Or is he that greedy and egotic that he can't think straight or play fair?

He should have just focused on Big Hit and make it grow if he wanted to continue producing. Big Hit is already the juciest, biggest part in Hybe.

But nah, he had to put his greedy paws in everybody's 'independant' labels business and production X( .

And now everyone is starting to sound the same  . TRAGIC.

  • imo the labels were working, except for MHJ.

You have a person always wanting and asking for more and more, and it will never be enough whatever you give them.

So unfortunately to prevent another MHJ from happening, the labels will lose freedom.

The question is, for how long? All these businessmen are eager for power, not only Mhj. The bubble will burst one day. Mhj might be the first, but if Bsh keeps doing this, I don't think it will be long before other CEOs rebel too. I don't think anyone likes to be seen as a puppet and to be controlled too closely. Bsh is not the CEO of Hybe but the CEO of Big Hit. Yes he has more power, but if he wants to control every groups, then their system is useless. Just let the upper management control all labels fairly, with no bias and favoritism. He should solely focus on Big Hit, on Bts and Txt.

Hybe's system now is like the royal system. There are always people who hate and are against dictatorship.

BSH is not the CEO of Big hit...gods...the man left that post years ago. He has been Hybe Chairman only. Please research before speaking. In fact he gave up his former position as CEO of Hybe to Jiwon to focus on making music as he says, which let me tell you he hasn't for BTS since 2020 and that too was just 1 or 2 songs even before that unlike what he does with LSFM, TXT, Enhypen all of whom have entire albums having him on every other song. He is not credited as a songwriter on even one song of any BTS member's solo...heck even if you check BTS album song credits, he has barely had many direct creds for the whole album, except in some early albums of BTS, unlike that of the aforementioned groups. This is why BTS are not dependent on him for anything, not their sound, not their concepts...nothing!!!! In BTS' last album / EP - BE, he had zero creds...and even for 7, the new songs excluding the ones from Persona, saw him credited only on 1 song.

  • Your whole thread is fallacious based on the assumption that he is the CEO of Big Hit, when this man below - Shin Young Jae -has been the CEO of Big hit and Bang is not associated with BH in any official position for years now.
