Before you watch a movie or something, are you the kind of person, who...

  • ... wants to know as little as possible before you watch the movie?

I mean, are you the kind of person, who maybe picks a movie to watch, doesn't even look at the synopsis, and then watches it, without knowing anything about the movie?

I sometimes feel like that is a fun way to watch a movie.

I remember though when I watched a kdrama without looking at the synopsis (I can't remember why) and I remember it feeling a bit more exciting for me to watch.

I have also once tried to read a book, without looking at the synopsis and that was kinda fun too.

Sometimes an interesting-sounding synopsis can make me watch a movie or something.

But other stuff can also make people want to watch a movie, e.g. if someone has heard that this movie is good or because their favourite actor is in this movie.

I am that kind of person though, who sometimes does want to know stuff, before I watch it. I mean like me wanting to know if the movie has something that can make me feel uncomfortable.

But there are some movies or stuff where I feel like I know so much about it that I feel like I don't even need to watch the movie because I know almost everything about it.

And I admit that I'm the kind of person who often watches videos of people reviewing movies, books and other stuff.

  • I will read what it's about then watch it. But with dramas I like to look at what actors are in the show and research them. Sometimes I discover new music due to some of the actors I watch

  • General synopsis yeah. Gimmie a rough outline.

Give me a trailer that has some cool shots to hype me up.

But I get super spoiler phobic about surprises, neat cameos etc so I usually try and go into hiding mode from a movie/book/comic/show before they release.

REALLY hate the new trend in the past few years of movie trailers spoiling the surprising parts or twists. OR EVEN HINTING THAT THERES A TWIST. Don't tell me to be ready for a surprise, let me BE surprised!

Oh and I'm a big fan of horror, slasher and "monster tears through a group a of people" movies. And holy crap do I HATE when the trailers for these movies actually SPOIL THE KILLS. Part of the appeal of these kinds of movies is seeing who lives through, the scary tension in a scene of if someone is going to die or not and the tense, creative ways the ones who die... well... die.

I want to see that IN the movie, not in the trailer.

  • No. I want to know a lot so I can assess as much as possible if I will somewhat like it or not. I'm not a big movie person, so if I'm spending hours watching, I want to be as sure as I can that I'll enjoy it.

I like to look up the general plot, actors, reviews, watch the trailer.. I don't always do this but I prefer to.
