Dreamcatcher started this a few months back, with the whole "Buy a $70 merch kit and whichever cities have the most merch kits purchased will get a tour visit". The merch kit includes a shirt that is ONLY in 2XL size (what are they implying about Insomnia?)

It's honestly an awful, awful precedent to start up.

I don't mind this. In fact, I've been thinking about a GoFundMe-style crowdfunding system for lesser-known artists wherein fans would pre-pay for a concert ticket, and if enough people pre-pay to make a concert profitable, then a show would be scheduled. If not enough people pre-pay, then all money would be refunded.

I dropped my 10 bucks.

Hopefully is not some scam and they try to steal my credit card information.

I imagine there would need to be some kind of fee to run this.

Maybe 95% of the money gets refunded.

If you're this unsure that people will show up to your tour, it's probably best to not even try it yet.

Are they? Enough to actually hold a tour? I'm not convinced, and it seems neither are they, hence this entire scheme. The groups that are confident in their touring ability don't have to put out feelers in such a public fashion.

For sure, but she is from the Island of Bali, Jakarta is in Java, but most of the population of Indonesia lives in Java so it does make economic sense to hold it there.

I went to the Chicago show, there were probably 100 people there max.
