Do you think the territories of the United States should have the right to vote for President in November?

  • Only the states and Washington, D.C. can vote for President in November.

As for the territories of the United States, they can vote only during the primaries/caucuses.

  • Bit of a revelation for me. Territories voted during the Primary nomination. Political Parties make that decision.

Right to vote? No their not a State.

Modeled like Congress (Representatives ans Senators) the President represents both the People and States. Territories have Representatives in Congress but no Senators. A missing element.

Suppose a State of Territories could be made.

Puerto Rico held elections to become a State that didn't pass.

Puerto Rico held elections to become a State that didn't pass.

The United States has 14 territories in total, of which only 5 are inhabited (Puerto Rico is one of them). The other 9 territories don't have any people in it, so maybe another U. S. territory could do something to become a U. S. state, and then Puerto Rico becomes a state, either as a state of the United States or as part of the State of Territories of the United States (which could be convincing).

  • I think they should push to become states if they want to vote. American Samoans aren't even citizens, so that would be particularly dicey.

What do you think would happen to the flag of the United States if a territory becomes a state? Would the stars on the flag still represent the 50 states (only the states), or would there be more stars, representing the territories as well?

Same thing that always happens when a territory becomes a state, we add a star. The unincorporated territories will never be represented on the flag unless they become states.
