it's a Belift thing i guess
Didn't Enhypen get the same criticism for the same thing recently?
Now that you mentioned it, yes. And the chu chus are now blaming the artist yikes
its just a dance cover and theyre not claiming it to be their own. if you don't make money off of it then its fine
yunah ate tho i must admit

I mean .... they are making money off it by uploading it on their Youtube channel which gives them views which gives them money? I could be wrong but ...

youtube pays pennies unless you get many millions of views. don't worry about it

So it is not ok if they are profiting off other people's work if they make huge money from it, but it is ok if they profit less from exploiting the work of others?

50k views is like 50 cents. thats not really profit
Who is illit??????

True, but correct way to do it would be to give original artists the credit. I can understand why choreographer is upset and I hope their illit agency reaches out to them to smooth things out.
The funniest thing is that girl tagging a not active fan account since 2022, lol, not the official Belift or at least Hybe account 😂.
But 'plagiarism' is such a huge word for things that are not copyrighted, like TikTok and its dances, which are basically 'free'. I mean, tons of idols actually doing this in their own variety shows while not credit the creator of the dance/choreography, it's just never a big deal before. Yes, it's morally wrong to not credit the choreographer, but it's not like they used it for their songs; they just simply danced to it in one of their variety show episodes. It would be better if she properly emailed the company and asked them to credit her or compensate her. But yeah, if she wants some hype, this is the right thing to do, because Kpop fans are crazy about canceling someone, especially from the big 4.

Even if you don’t claim the work as your own, not giving proper credit to the original artist is still unethical.
