What are some groups that never sought out western validation?

this is such a ridiculous question. of course every artist mentioned would love to get "western validation" in the sense that it's another market (more fans and money) for them to explore. saying bands whose agency did not feel it was worth 'attacking' another market doesn't mean they wouldn't love to get a hit over there.
