The popularity of Hybe's 5th gen groups has already dropped drastically compared to their seniors

  • BND didn't generate much buzz, TWS hype is nearly nonexistent except among some Svt and hybe fans. The Illit lineup is already facing criticism and they just losing a key member. Katseye, being American-centered gg might struggle to gain popularity.

The significant drop in popularity, especially for their boy groups, compared to their 3rd gen groups is evident. All labels under Hybe need to reconsider their strategy for all their new groups instead of just debuting them because they have money and influence.

It's a shame that Trainee A is now out of the picture, considering their huge potential and existing fanbase.

  • I feel it’s because their seniors have very loyal fandoms that have built up from 0. I’m talking about BTS and Seventeen. Those fans are there to stay with their favs and not easily caught in the family agenda like the Big 3 groups’ fans that they will be stanning the next rookie that Big 3 produce in a heart beat because that’s their circle of life. While I do think the new rookies from Hybe got much exposure due to how big Hybe has become, their fandoms are still young and mostly casual stans or multis. To get a loyal following, you need more time.

  • Boynextdoor is doing well debuting from an less known label like KOZ. They are an album or 2 away from million sellers, and few spots away from entering Melon/Kcharts. They have a very good growing fandom in Japan and China.

Katseye, and Illit will be fine, it's not like HYBE is desperate for top ggs when NJ, LSRF is there for next few years to block their own girl groups.

TWS is soon to say, and SVT didn't got instant success either. They will likely follow SVT path.

The most anticipated new Bighit Music and Ador boy groups are still to come.

HYBE 5th gen is promising, just that they won't takeover 4th gen just yet same for other big company groups.

  • Hybe debuted many popular groups in a short time. You need smth extra to stand out and tws and illit haven’t shown that yet. Boynextdoor sound is also different than bighit sound, so it makes sense that not everyone who likes hybe groups is a fan.

They don’t need super popular rookies when they already have bts and seventeen and when they even have girlgroups like newjeans and lsf who are already doing well.

But I understand now why they aren’t in a rush anymore to debut a new bighit group and why it took so long to debut a new pledis group. I expected a bit more

  • this is what happens when you churn out a new group every three business days. the prior big3 relied heavily on company support and it worked in their favor. it would take years for them to put out a new group after their existing one would slowly branch out to solo activities or acting or whatever. this gave a chance for the newer group to shine as a whole group and for fans to latch on to them. with hybe how the hell is a company stan supposed to support five million groups under two million different labels. it’s dumb. especially in todays market when you need a distinctive factor to set you apart from the rest — le sserafim had two famous izone members, newjeans had ex-sm creative directed min heejin. illit and Zico’s group just have nothing substantial enough to offer. zico is popular but he has pulled a rain. did anyone even know rain had his own little flop group project? yeah thought so.

I think y’all forget Hybe is not a music label lol

If you get that part, then their roster make sense
