I listen to the song before I go to any kpop forum and social media, so I have no expectations at all. When I listen to it, I actually feel like, "Oh, Itzy found their rhythm again, and this will definitely be another hit from them." I was so excited going to Reddit and Twitter, thinking the opinions would be mostly positive, only to be so disappointed that it's actually being hated by K-pop fans. How and why? People make fun of the chorus, especially the lyrics "Put my sneakers on," saying it's goofy and ridiculous, when I find it hella catchy.
As a non-fan, I admitted that I'm not a big fan of Itzy's discography except for Wannabe and Dalla Dalla, which makes me surprised that I like Sneakers a lot. I can see why they picked that song as the title track. I'm just surprised that K-pop fans hate it, and it's only doing well in Korea after Chaeryeong went viral. It's such a fun song.
