Kpop group fans should be happy when their favs solo flops

If some member's solo career becomes very successful they start to get funny ideas that they don't need to renew with group anymore and decide to go solo route after contract is over. If members solo flop they stick with the group.

For example gidle, soyeon, miyeon, yuqi solos did pretty meh but as a group gidle is topping charts with easy thus its more likely that they will stick together as a group after contract is over

I think Miyeon selling over 100k was a success while not being from a Big 4 company. Her album sold better than a couple of Idle's albums.

Treat some members better, so solo fans start fighting each other and it becomes a competition

I disagree and agree at the same time, but I can name a few groups off the go of my head that followed this technique.. a lot. It’s not always idols faults because the company will most likely decide for them.

I’m not a Mamamoo fan but I do prefer hwasa as a soloist but the songs she released when she was still under WM are better than I love my body. Maybe it would be better if those songs flopped Lol jk

disagree completely but if one looks at it from a company's perspective then yes less solo activities or poor solo performances mean more likely to renew

now the issue is whether other companies will see that and copy it
