    LOOOOOOVE IT!

Oh man this is great. I hadn't ever heard it.

Man 2nd Gen will always be the gen that keeps giving.

    It just had this feeling......

It's hard to put in words for new fans.

But the whole atmosphere just and songs and way they did everything is just so charming to those of us who discovered this world during that time.

It's still the gen that I can find random groups or songs I missed are the time...

That just have this emotion and feel that translates to me even today.

Thanks for sharing this. As I had never known of it.

    Such a good song.

  • I know exactly what feeling you are referring to. It is hard to describe but we 2nd gen fans get it.

One of the best songs that describes what you are talking about is Stellar UFO. Another song I showed you a year or so ago that you loved. That song and video just oozes that 2nd gen charm and atmosphere.

I don't claim to be an expert on 2nd and 1st gen but I know I'm more well versed than the average fan who only listens to what's current and hot and it's comforting and exciting knowing there is still music and groups out there I have yet to discover.

It truly is the generation that keeps on giving.

  • Well... I remember seeing that group's name in an AKP article about the worst kpop group names...

But I like Joma Joma or at least I liked that song a lot in the past.

Yes , I seem to recall C-REAL being maligned as the 'Fruit Loops' of K-pop ???

But , (female) HAM (Heart And Mind) remains as my *CHEESY* favorite name ...

Who could resist 'HAM and CHEESE' ...

BUT (female) *PRITZ* Group remains as my ALL TIME favorite name ...
PRITZ = (Pretty Rangers In the Terrible Zone, 프리츠) ...
Their NAZI-esque arm bands were also interesting as fashion.

I know Tahiti but never heard this one. Absolutely beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Best gen ever :yesr:

I've been thinking about it why, because probably everyone'll be saying this of the gen they got to know K-pop in and/or their ultimate bias is from.

But I think what 2nd gen made so special, is that 2nd gen took place at a turning point, where it opened up to global exposure (the Hallyu Wave) but was still very much anchored to local: 2nd gen idols flooded all the variety shows and were household names, which gave rise to a high quality of idol variety entertainment, idol interactions and collaborations between members of all the bgs and ggs. As a result, 2nd gen felt like a small town where everyone knew eachother and that had great energy and chemistry between the various groups.

This combined with the growing popularity and this new exposure to the world, not only of K-pop but also k-drama, which was later defined as Hallyu Wave, gave 2nd gen altogether a special vibe, a freshness. This was also the time that K-pop girl groups showed to be just as financially healthy and viable as boy groups had been before.
