Normally i am very cynical and suspicious of the hacks in the weather industry. So many clickbaity sensational headlines crying wolf about weather hazards, the Weather Channel's massive scandal when one of their reporters Mike Seidel was caught faking strong winds, our own local reporters here in Hawaii repeatedly making mountains out of molehills to generate views and tv ratings.
But every once in a blue moon, these hacks are proven right and something truly horrific happens, like the Houston floods, Tampa storm surge, and of course the Maui tragedy.
So my question is, what is going to happen tomorrow when Hilary passes just east of LA as a tropical storm? Is CJENM risking a major public backlash by not canceling Sunday's activities and then having massive problems and even safety issues at the venue which make front page news here or in Korea? Conditions are expected to be very unpleasant but not catastrophic (at least by standards where i live). 25-40mph, 1-3 inches of rain. Basically a really bad storm. But a really bad storm in my state could mean something much worse in LA, i just dont know.
