I still haven't found any answers yet (that's the part where op's point about how Muslims have been ostracized in western media adds up, would be safer for him to speak on Islam than Christianity)

Haha, I guess you’re curious since I’m a Muslim. I get that.
To simply put it, I’m not that knowledgeable, so I don't really know if I can provide you with an informed opinion on other religious beliefs.
You sort of need to have faith in the religion to follow it's rules and believe in the consequences in the afterlife (if other faiths even believe in that). I personally believe everything in our lives is a test, so I live MY life in accordance with my beliefs but I do not expect others to share or follow that belief. I worked with and have a few lgbtq+ friends, and we were chill. We didn’t exactly agree with each other's lifestyles, but maintained respectful friendships. As I said, for you is your religion, for me is my religion, so there is no compulsion from religion from my end according to what I have been taught and believe. You live your life, I live mine. Simple as that.

Off topic, most are decent people just tryna live their lives like me. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏻
But to be honest, I really don't get how sensitive some are here when Christianity and it's bible/ beliefs have been made fun of too many times.

I will never understand this point of view. "It is not your religion", "it is not your history". How do you think human will evolve if we don't talk about issues and learn from others? I know people who are religious and were once homophobic but they aren't anymore. Why? Because they talked to people who are different from them; they got to know about their experiences. Same goes for history. Nobody owns the history, history is everyone's. Who will talk about civilization that don't exist anymore? Everyone sane knows that holocaust and slavery are bad. should the rest ignore those issues and let only people who went through it talk about? Should rest ignore and let it happen again?
If we don't talk to each other and try to understand and learn about each other bad things will continue to happen. Which are already happening and your pov is making it worse.

I'm not speaking for anyone else and i do think there's actually a lot of people whoread religious text and interpret it differently that's why even in Islam, some Imam when explaining the Quran give different explanation on different things
i've never read the quran entirely, so i'm just speaking on the fact of what my muslim family toldme during different discussion and the opinion i have on this things and how i see life
but for me you can't be religious and homophobic
whatever the text you're using, one thing never change is that it's always written that god love everybody so you should do too even if it's written in texts that god doesn't accept same sex relationship
sure the text says that they don't accept it which is fine for me, but not accepting something and hating something is two different things
religion push people to not accept same sex relation, but religion never push people to hate on same sex relation
i'm okay with people who don't want to be my best friend because i'm gay honestly if it's your religious beliefs, at the moment you stay respectful towards me and friendly enough to say hello if we meet in the hallway

i'd never talk over people whose belief in concern, therefore i'll never told anybody of they should find something offensive on their behalf or not. that's why i don't give much input in the big thread.
and i also thank you for emphasizing the difference of ignorant behaviour and straight up hate act, something really lacks in many conversations like this one topic
