[+858, -45] Broadcasts are not some playground for you to joke around in. Hit them with disciplinary action and don't let them back on TV.
lmao

Does this prove anything? NJ still shouldnt have done it.

There's definitely a number of comments there that sound like NewJeans haters jumping on any bit of controversy they can find as well as a little misogyny sprinkled in there. Like it's not that outlandish of a situation.
However I do think there is an interesting and valid discussion on the precedent that HYBE is setting here and being smarter on who they do that with. Sure they got it signed by the network but there's a hint of "look we're doing something blatant with our sponsor" all in the name of money and they're using a gg that has members who are very young and less likely to have a power dynamic where they can object to it if they're not comfortable. Like honestly its just an eyeroll for me but it does feel a little opportunistic of the company and I think it's not fair to NewJeans. Like yeah let them get those sponsorships for their own income or families' income but lets not get to a point where they're being used like billboards, they deserve better and more creative ways of sponsoring.

Being under review itself does mean they did something "pretty bad" lol
It just means some people complained. The result is what matters.
All music shows have their own guidelines as to what does or doesn't fly
They used an iPhone but they weren't expressly promoting it. Just triggered some nationalistic middle aged men with too much time on their hands

Technically doing better than everyone faves so not quite the diss you were looking for.

Weirdly enough, while I don't like the angle that some of the knetz are stating, the seemingly harmless spread of sly advertising is a problem in the West. Many of us on this forum prob don't think much of it bc there exists so many platforms/avenues that skirted the law before

i don't really get whats the difference between new jeans promoting the iphone which everyone already knows they were paid to promote vs a commercial the comes on right after the performance.
Little difference. I think the semantics are surrounding the principle I suppose. I can only speak for myself, but for example I don't like that the sponsor is the biggest thing on my favorite football teams' jersey. I want to see the team's name or logo blasted on it not Qatar or Spotify. It's tackier than it being on the rails of the stadium. I live with it but I find it distracting and clumsy looking.
