How come girl group songs in a minor key always get pushed as a B-side?

  • What do all these songs have in common? These b-sides are all better received by the fandom, so much that they're actually promoted. Also they're in a minor key and have a kinda haunting sound. I thought I was going crazy but I noticed this phenomenon happen like 4 times in the past year. Why does this keep happening?

If I remember correctly I remember that for the release of this album the girls wanted a stronger song and choreo for their title track.

  • They're both in a minor key. Unforgiven is Em and Bluebeard is E-flat minor.

Gotta disagree with my girls on this one because Pretty Psycho could have had such a cool, memorable, Halloweeny music video where they're in like a haunted hosue. And the choreo for this song >>> memeM's choreo. At least they redeemed themselves when they promoted Nerdy.

  • Although looking at all the songs I think memeM and Who's Next? are in minor keys too. They just don't have that creepy vibe like they're b-side. So you bring up another good example.

I liked both personally, i'm probably one of the few. But yes I think they also saw that the fans preferred "pretty psycho" by far
