3rd gen isnt dead !!! OH MY GIRL rising on kchart like CRAZY

  • Good to see Oh My Girl still in it. People over-reacted a little to their initial charting.

However 3rd Gen isn't dead in Korea anyway - (G)I-DLE have hit PAK and had a #1 2 years running, 3rd gen is just as strong and up there as always with the 4th gen groups.

  • After their hit with Dolphin/nonstop their follow up dun dun dance did also well. But than real love didnt do well.

Thats similar to Brave Girls who had been successful with rollin/we Ride and their follow up cmbr. But thank you didnt do well.

Seeing the behavior of Kpop Fans we can be lucky oh my girl didnt get called one Hit Wonder.

I hope they keep rising on the chart and maintain their stand in Kpop.

They were not called one hit wonder because they had already moderate hits before Non-Stop. They were at numero 2 on Melon chart for a while and then their 2019 songs, Fifth Season and Bungee did pretty well too. Bungee did the best of them all so their label gave up on their dreamy fairy tale concept for a more upbeat and summery vibe. I actually like both Oh My Girl.

I wouldnt call any of their previous songs a Hit. But you are right that omg was basicly able to do some charting allready since debute. I guess their company was never as shitty as mld or Brave ent.

  • you guys really jumped the gun too soon

Yeah, it's not looking good for them.

If i were an OMG stan, i would be hanging on to that FLO number and praying it remains stable until promotions start or the song goes viral.

I put them in the danger zone after Real Love flopped, not sure they can survive another flop and still remain digitally relevant. We all know what happens to these older GGs ;(;( .

Actually not sure what went wrong with them. They were doing so well with nonstop + dolphin and then Jiho left. Thats the moment the whole company seems like a mess (was the company bought by RBW?)

Real love was a mess + long delayed and now this, non existence promo

I dont think they are in real danger of disbandment. they can do festivals and concerts. Even without digitals they can be profitable and stay active. But jeah, they wont play with the big groups anymore...😭

I like them a lot but i dont like their last two releases as much as their previous work.

I guess if they get a great song, Kpop fans will tune in again.

"Non existence promo?" The song was released just yesterday. They haven't even had a chance to promote it.

RBW bought WM after Nonstop. It must have been in the pipelines for a long time before hand thought.

They seem to be pretty hands off for the most part so not sure if we can blame them on this one. Only time it was clear they interfered was (1) to shut down the WM NGG and (2) after Chaeyeons debut flopped they seemingly took over alot of the work for her first CB with knock knock. That mini was rammed with RBW names.

Looking at the credits for this album seems pretty WM including classic OMG lyricist Seo Jieum and a big name like monotree.

Think WM just pushed solo work too much - they were pretty late hitting it big so I get wanting to give them solo careers, but none of them really hit it big with the solo work and lack of group promotions whilst lots of big groups debuted and had hits meant people forgot about them and the gaps between group work meant they didn't solidify their fanbase after its growth.

  • A very sad case for OMG

I liked their discography a lot and it seems that they only want to do "summer" comebacks now.. and the summer song is not even a bop on Dun dun dance level 😭
