So NMIXX has reportedly sold over 900k copies in just three days, which is indeed impressive. However, when we compare these sales numbers to the engagement numbers on platforms like Melon, YouTube, and Spotify, there seems to be a discrepancy. The title track had fewer than 8k likes on Melon, only 212k likes on YouTube within the first 24 hours, and just 270k streams on Spotify within the first 15 hours of tracking. In fact "Party O'Clock" is now NMIXX’s title track with the lowest debut streams on Spotify, even lower than "Roller Coaster".
While it's possible to attribute these high sales numbers to a large Chinese fanbase, the information from Weibo suggests that c-bars (fan clubs) purchased fewer than 100k copies this time. This raises the question of where these sales numbers are even coming from?
