What genre do you think SM kpop is if not pop?
Did your taste in Non-Kpop music influence your taste in Kpop music?

Please read my post again, I said it's more than just pop, not, it's not pop.
My favs, Exo, have a lot of RnB songs.
FX did a lot of EDM among other genres.
Red Velvet have an entire Velvet concept that mostly consists of RnB.
And there is NCT doing a lot more than pop with their experiments.

So they just make good pop music. Same thing.

Usually no, except for Dreamcatcher.
I used to be into this kind of music as well:

Definitely. I was no stranger to korean music but my god, I used to hate kpop. My favorite genre of music is rock, so no wonder I gravitate towards songs with meaningful lyrics and rather heavy on the instrumentals. I hate sugary pop and rnb songs, probably why I couldn't get into any of the girl groups and 2nd gen groups.

Not really I think, maybe a little bit

100% true for me. I tend to love epic pop music and rock so I love Dreamcatcher and aespa. I also love great vocals and harmonizations so I am a fan of Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Purple Kiss, Little Mix, Beyoncé or Adele. I love artists who write their lyrics like Taylor, IU, BTS, G-Idle, Purple Kiss or Mamamoo again.
