Yes. Growl has some kind of sound that doesn't really show its age. Sometimes I can listen to a song and immediately identify what was the time that song was released, but with growl that's just impossible

I don't think so. Viral hits are viral hits, because they are released at the right time. It's never only about the music. Looking back when Growl was dropped, EXO already charted with MAMA and better than the debut with Wolf, the interest was growing.

Nowdays, there isn't as much tolerance to boygroups anymore. So, most likely, a big part of the public wouldn't even give it a chance to find out It's a good song, in the first place.

GP isn’t interested in BGs these days because BGs are not at the caliber of EXO that’s just on facts. Talent charisma visuals star factor. Rookie EXO’s were larger than life. I really can’t see it with any bg rn. Not just the song went viral it was EXO that also went viral their one take video, their school uniform, the fun choreography etc.

i personally find the song timeless (alongside a lot of exo songs). but there is no way of checking if it would get the same success.
