@ everyone who isn't US-American, Japanese or Korean - How surprised were you?

  • How surprised were you when you found a JPop or KPop idol with your nationality/cultural background and are there even any artists and idols from the country you're from or from your cultural background?

For me I was quit surprised at these:

    • Yangyang of the KPop-group NCT is from Germany, even tho he isn't German
    • Alex of of the KPop-group DRIPPIN is half German, he was born here and live in Germany till he was 4
    • Maki of the JPop-group &TEAM is half German, people rumor if he was born and maybe even raised in Germany since his birthplace wasn't revealed
    • Marius who is a former member of the JPop-group Sexy Zone, he was born and raised in Germany till about 10/11 years old than randomly imediatly debuted in Japan when his family moved there as he was 11 years old
    • I'm not 100% sure but I think I was a bit surprised but not really when people claimed that Huenning Kai of the KPop-group TXT would've some German ancestry. IDK the exact thing but if I'm not mistaken it was said his dad was half German and half American but with the Brazilian citizenship if thats correct (?) than that would him quater German I think

    How about you ?

BTW if you can't think of anyone, just give me the name of the country you're looking for and I may find you some names

  • I know a few grew up here in Australia. Rose' from Blackpink for example so I expected their English to be fluent.

Thinking of Australia, Ryoki from the JPop-group BE:FIRST grew up there and so I expected him to speak with a big fat Aussie dialect/accent, however he has almost no dialect/accent from the few short pieces I heard when he was speaking English or I'm just dumb since English is only my 2nd language

Here is a clip (I couldn't find a better one) of him speaking English. Maybe he dosn't developed an Aussi dialect/accent cause he later on moved to the US. No idea how many years he even spend in Australia but in one video where he jokingly said "I spend 8 years abroad to study the hoola-hoop" (where his group tried hoola-hoop) I think he spend the time he was very young in Australia since he said that altho he used to live abroad came back to Japan around the time he entered highschool but he took highschool in Japan at an fully English school.
