Blackpink is about to out-tour BTS. Shocked?

  • I mean, they're doing well but i feel most know this isn't an accurate comparison at all as its comparing BTS's 2018/2019 tour which had under 50 shows to now, when we all know there is a big difference btween 2019 BTS and 2022/2023 BTS.

BTS grossed insane amounts with their PTD shows with only 12 shows of which 3 of them had covid guidelines still impacting them (the korean shows).

had BTS gone on their MOTS Tour which had 16 US Stadium dates alone, over 12 Japanese dome dates, Korean full stadium shows, plus stadiums across Europe (and probs dates would have been added for the rest of Asia + South America + India (as BTS mentioned))... BTS would have easily broken their own grossing record for the LY Tour.

Anyway, i do hope in 2025 BTS come back and go on tour cause god i miss their tours... and that is why i will be going to watch YTC in busan in cinemas in February.

  • I feel bad for the MOTS ticket holders because they held onto those tickets for 1 year. And when the PTD On Stage concert series was announced, they weren't prioritized and they were unable to secure tickets.
I do hope they tour again so that they'll meet more ARMYs. :pepelove1:

Yeah... the whole ticketing mess for PTD LA with the MOTS ticket holders was so bad. At least it got a tiny bit better for Las Vegas. Also I thank BTS to this day for not having dynamic pricing turned on.

Also the all PTD shows sold out in army presale alone was insane. (i remember trying to get my LV tickets... was so stressful).

Plus the over 400k people in line for the Korean dates when only around 45k tickets were available cause of covid restrictions. At least they got YTC Busan where a lot more armys could be there and with no/less covid restrictions, so they could hear K-ARMYs.

all i know is the bloodbath for tickets in 2025/2026 if they tour... that is when all armys will become my enemies cause i better get tickets ;judgingpepe:

  • Op, your thread is backfiring magnificently. The fact that the 2nd biggest kpop act is barely matching LY BTS which is way below MOTS BTS which is even further below dyna/butter/PTD BTS is not the flex you think it is. It just further proves that BTS touring power is unmatched.

Everyone here knows that MOTS tour would've easily grossed 400M+ if it wasn't cancelled for COVID. And let's not even go to dyna/butter era because i don't wanna assume anything but you get the idea.

  • Higher ticket prices mean higher demand

You're not wrong. But having more attendees is a better metric to measure an artist' demand when it comes to touring. Anyone with a loyal and dedicated fanbase can hike up their prices, but having more people show up to your concert and ALL at once (stadium) in 4 continents will always be impressive.

And everyone questioning BTS' demand and power in touring is delusional. We all know that they only needed to tour 12 times to gross 230,000,000 if we're really talking about potential revenues here. They don't need to do x5 of x10 of that dates to get that numbers. We all know how hard touring is especially for idols.

And everyone questioning if they can sell out a STADIUM with ridiculous ticket prices is delusional as well. Their fanbase sold out so many expensive items like a literal gold worth over 2,000 USD. This should not be up to debate. EVER.

Being proud about an ass of a company ripping you off for a concert ticket is crazy. HYBE has so many repeated stances of ripping armys off when it comes to BTS' merch and albums yet I don't see anyone being proud about it.

I really do hope HYBE won't inflate the ticket prices of BTS in the future. They can just do another simultaneous livestreams online or in cinema like to make more profit. And we all know when BTS tour again for their 'get together' the fans will surely go insane. I don't want another Taylor Swift ticketing mess to happen again.

  • Also I thank BTS to this day for not having dynamic pricing turned on.

I think it's different levels of ridiculousness if they do this or HYBE.

Have you seen Bad Bunny's ticket prices for his stadium shows? Having to hike up the ticket prices so much is crazy, but if you are playing in a bigger venue or stadium while selling it at almost a double rate should be a crime. His one stadium show grossed like 15M because of it. It's an impressive feat cause THAT many people at ONE show is willing to pay a very high price for a concert, but it ain't it. Concert should be a gift to fans and not to be taken advantage of.

    Nuff said.

Anyone being brave making comparisons with BTS rn is kinda funny. It's like fighting an air, it's useless. Or is it because BTS is literally in military right now and in hiatus, so they only have their numbers and records from 3-4 years ago to compare about? Anyways, I will be waiting for that World Tour in 2026!

  • Actually, BTS sold over 4,800,000 tickets in their PTD concert from Oct 2021-Apr 2022. Their cinema live-viewing alone during PTD: Seoul had 1,400,000 ticket sold just in ONE viewing and with covid seating restrictions. Then the remaining numbers came from simultaneous offline show & online shows.

  • I always thought BTS’s tour record is untouchable but Blackpink is coming quick and will probably surpass it.

Adjust ticket prices for inflation at let’s see those stats again

  • 50M difference... how is that almost outdoing it?

also... you are comparing bp 2022/2023 numbers with bts 2019 numbers..

i remember when onces did that with the twice 2021 tour & bp 2019 tour, blinks were screaming that was ridiculous to compare and they should wait till bp toured again. guess it's hard to keep the same energy for others?

This also reminded me of blinks saying that the fake arena stadium Twice performed at didn't count as a stadium but then it did when BP performed there. :pepe-joy:
