Armys, I got 2 question bout BTS for you...

  • Like let's say you got 2 friends or coworkers or uncles or any kind of people.

The first one, let's call him John, didn't know bts at all because well, kpop are never his cup of tea.

The second onex let's call him Kenny, didn't know bts too but he is a kpop stan actually, and he stan... Let's say TVXQ.

And... Since we know that bts is popular, what do you think or feel or idk which one do you use, about this 2 kind of people who doesn't know them?

  • John

" Let me suggest some hype BTS songs he will probably like them

    Suggests mic drop fire etc

    Also shows BTS best performances"

    Kenny

"Ooh it's a sm group stan probably totally into vocals and shit let me suggest BTS ballad songs"

  • For people who don’t know BTS, I tend to say something along the lines of:

If you just assumed that *all* they were doing was dancing, you would still see them and recognise that they are consummate performers and they would deserve respect just for that. But they’re also singing while doing that, and they’re singing well. And they would deserve respect for that even if they were singing songs written by other people, but they’re singing songs and rapping songs written by them and often produced by them, and then those songs are referencing art, literature, culture, philosophy and science.

And to people who sort of know BTS, I would say that if you’ve heard one or two songs and think you know what they’re about, you’ve only scratched the surface because there are so many different styles of music. So if you’ve not vibed with them, there might be something else that you do like.

  • I don't usually recommend anything, unless someone asks me so. Idk it just feels uncomfortable for me to just go to a coworker and say: "hey, do you know BTS? I'm going to recommend some songs". Only once I was in a situation, I told a coworker I was going to see BTS in LA in the cinema and she told me: "ah, the Korean group, I hope you have lots of fun", and that was it. My another coworker was already an ARMY :borahae:

In my current job we've never talked about BTS or Kpop with any coworker.

  • For both answers, find out what kind of music they like if i don't already know, then tell them BTS is a group who performs songs in the style the like. BTS' discography is so diverse that almost every genre is covered so if i want to tell someone about BTS, it's pretty easy to make the conversation relevant to the person's interests.

  • I don’t force anyone around me irl to listen to bts or kpop or any interests I have lol. If they are interested and ask me for suggestions then I would say something. If not I just mind my business

However if they shit talk about BTS in my presence I do say something

I would do too, but luckily no one has said anything wrong in front of me, people are usually curious or they say they are cool.

But still no one has asked me to recommend them songs :holding-back-tears:

No opinion literally. I enjoy BTS for entertainment purposes only. They (or any other artist for that matter) aren't influencial enough to change my perception of another person around me.

I wouldn't change my opinion, unless they are racists towards them. Then I would have it hard not to change my opinion about that person. But fortunately no one has said anything racist about them in front of me.

  • Non people who don't know them, I would happily explain that they're the greatest K pop group in the world but wouldn't expect them to know them as not everyone knows or follows K pop.

K pop fans who don't know them I'd be quite surprised and wonder what rock they've been hiding under as it would be hard not to as they are so prominent and famous. I would suggest to them to check out their music.
