I am wondering that myself. i would certainly hope I would never be expected to apologize for my family members. I mean my grandmother, a product of the age she grew up in, thinks all gay people should be shot. I don't agree with it and have told her so many times, but I can't change her mind and yes, I still love her.
safe to say armys are excited for Jimin

You see there's this thing called phones, with phone numbers that you can make calls and texts with. It's a personal device to personally communicate off camera. /ends sarcasm
But obviously as fans, we can only know about anything if it's publicly announced or displayed. Otherwise we'll keep speculating and letting our imaginations run wild. And so far it has never been publicly displayed that they didn't like their own family members involvement of going after a junior group. I don't expect idols to hold their fans accountable (although it's their choice if they want to) but how can they not do anything when it involves family that has no business in fanwars?
As an army, I will always support Jimin/BTS members but that doesn't mean I have to be sheep and turn off my emotions for how I feel about whoever they decide to collab with.

You have a right to feel and do as you please. That said I'd personally find it harder to discuss things like this with family than to talk to fans who are basically strangers. In that, I don't hold it against Taeyang, but as I said, you have a right to feel as you want.

I mean i get that some can think like that, but with whats known today, where the members doesnt seem to have any problems with eachother today, one could assume a) it wasnt a thing to begin with or b) if it was they have spoken about it privately and its been resolved
Either way with any of the options above, even if one held it against them before, now when its obvious they themselves hold no grudges about it any longer even if they did earlier, isnt it time to let it go then? -

kinda agree that taeyang shouldn't be blamed for something his brother did (hope his brother did apologize tho & learned to grow up instead of engaging in fanwars).
however, your last comment is interesting.
question with a analogy; it seems that Rihanna has forgiven Chris Brown for what he has done to her, however, many people (e.g. some of her fans, locals,..) still hold it against him. Do you think, since Rihanna has forgiven him, everyone should overlook what happened too? i know that abusing someone physically and encouraging people to hate on a rookie group isn't the same, but i just wonder. everyone can have their own opinion about events, no?

Bc they don’t actually like their favs songs. They only stan for visuals and success

As you say, theres a mile difference between the usual fandom outcries (often over missunderstandings/lack of insider knowledge to really know what is what), and a proven domestic abuser.
People can of course hold whatever opionons they want, i just find it kinda funny when fans are mad over something that the involved parties either dont care or dont even know about. And many times it comes across as kinda infantilizing of the very person they are trying to "protect", and this is by no means unique to bts fans ,i think this happens in all fandoms (and not just kpop).

Naah the set up, especially when we look at your faves Spotify vs their YT numbers

I'm excited for both of them

i mentioned the difference in situations, because it's clearly there, but i don't think it's fair to downplay what happened with the whole Gaon fiasco by comparing it to silly fanwars...
in general, i would agree. there are instances where fandoms will take incidents or fanwars out of proportions (felt this way about some bts/army situations too) & expect their faves to share the sentiment, but there is a big difference in a silly fanwar where both parties have no idea/care about it happening & something that had a huge impact - certainly, in the moment - on the group and fans.
again, there are many instances that i would totally agree, but not forgetting that an older person in power abused someone innocent (for quite literally no reason) isn't something i would consider infantilizing. that's a very vile quality to have & it tells me a lot about you as a person if you can do that. good/healthy that bts got over it/forgave them, but that doesn't mean others should.

I dont really disagree with much of what you are saying, as you say there are perfectly valid reasons (like violence, abuse real crime etc) and plenty of other times there isnt. Like in this case, when people dislike someone for something they didnt even do themselves or expect people to take blame or publically apologize for it.
Im just thinking of how i would feel if i was famous and go online and see your own fans disliking/hating somone you are friends with just because of some perceived slight which might not even be true to begin with.
As for the quoted part, im not quite sure what the context is ? As far as i understood the gaon thing, gaon reused some video, uproar about it from vip who blamed bts, and then som family member(s) of bigbang posted something that could be taken as shade against bts and thats it. Is there something more to it?
