Yes, it does. The right question is how much. For a rough estimate you need monthly streams, not monthly listeners. For the actual value you need the breakout by country and paying tier. The more you pay Spotify the more your streams pays the artist.

I've read that one BILLION spotify streams equals only 3 million in royalties back to the artist (dunno if this 3 million has to be shared with the songwriters, producers, label, which would mean the artist might end up getting only 300k or even less depending on how contracts are structured).

Most Kpop groups are lucky to even get 100 million streams per song.

Meanwhile it only takes maybe 240k in album sales to gross 3 million, with the artists themselves probably getting maybe 10-15 percent of that.

Megan thee stallion made over 7M USD with over 1B streams on Spotify in a single year again it depends of the country.

3 Million would be if those streams were mostly in poor countries. Most figures point to 1B streams coming out to 5-10 million depending on where those streams come from.

With Youtube and other streaming services, it's a lot more money in the long run than most artists are likely to get from albums, especially considering albums will have more money coming out for distributors etc.
