day6 are 100% leaving jype next

  • Oh I know about that (more or less haha)but I was not talking about the production of their music but the promotion of the group! The activities they do when they have a comeback, the side-content they release / make, the general image, etc.

Promotion wise they kinda don't exactly have the kind of promotion idol groups have. In fact in their earlier years they didn't even promote on Music Shows, or even id they did it was like only 1 or 2 performances. Like they didn't even had a debut stage on music shows, they held their own mini fan concert or something.

I think they do mostly more concerts rather than go on programs etc. Like 2017 they held an entire year long EveryDay6 concert. 2018 was their first world tour, 2019 was their second, so touring is kinda like their way of promoting. If covid didn't happen and that all the members were mentally well they definitely would also have done a tour in 2020.

Also they release like 2 albums a year, and considering they write and co-produce all their songs, I think during their free time they are practising for the tours (since they will be playing them instruments live), or busy preparing and writing songs for their next album. Probably don't have the time to go on variety shows or other long programs

  • Hmm who knows what Day6 plans to do :/ But someone's been saying some interesting things again:

  • I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, they should still create together. They are way more prolific that way. Not just JYPE, but the Big 3 have been struggling to modernize just like American businesses. The pandemic is forcing both to rethink how they are doing things.

I think the eastern world is learning some of the same lessons currently being learned in the western world. One is how they look at and handle things like feedback, suggestions, dissent and complaints. The usual instinct is to squash any viewpoint that goes against popular opinion or perception. For a business, this can be fatal because these things can serve as a means to stay competitive through innovation to keep the company in business. That's more important than saving face and ego at the expense of letting the company go down.

The company needs to remember, it's the people who challenge or question the status quo who ultimately help the company become better. They are the assets you want to keep around because they see where the company should consider making improvements. If the employees don't have a mentally safe place to share their feedback, suggestions, dissent and complaints in order to make the company better, then that is a whole different issue.

JYPE has a history of putting together cohesive groups, but it seems like they can't keep those who have international appeal on the roster for long. It's like they have to leave in order to "graduate" to the next level of their careers and it shouldn't be like that. I don't think it's too late for the company to turn it around with Day6, but I think it's going to take putting ego and pretense aside to do what could benefit the company a lot in the future by doing right by the group.
