They've flopped before and still came back strong (One of these Nights to Russian Roulette and RBB/ZZB/Umpah Umpah to Psycho). They're 8 years old, still charting and selling well. Most 2nd gen girl groups didn't even reach 8 years let alone were still thriving at that time. Red Velvet is fine.

Not mention this year alone kpop stans shat on aespa, ITZY, and STAYC for months after 1 song they thought was bad.

RV was public enemy #1 after 3 songs people didn't like, and then released a 2020 SOTY nominee that's one of their most successful songs to date.
