Should SM had just made Red Velvet a full on vocal group without the "rap"?

I mean ICC, Happiness, Dumb Dumb, and Red flavor had some good raps

I love them but yea I cringe at some of the raps Irene and Yeri are way better vocalists Yeri harmonies during choruses is amazing

I think the rap part is cute and pleasant in red concepts. But it's not really necessary in Velvet concepts. Also, Yeri and Irene's vocal is better than you think. They are both comfortable singing live.

I think a lot of kpop groups should not have official rap title its really awkward and majority groups can't rap its more a talk in rhythm thing. that does not pass as rap over in America but if Korea Is fine with that then let it be

I think so. The raps only ever ruined their songs for me. Red Flavor would've been an 11/10 without that rap. With it, it's just a 9.

I'm not a fan of Irene but you gotta give credit where credit is due. Her range is one of the widest among female idols and the second widest in RV only after Wendy. Her range is E3 ~ Bb6 (3 octaves, 3 notes) which in RV is only bested by Wendy's range which is Eb3 ~ Eb7 (4 octaves). Now that doesn't necessarily make her a better singer than Seulgi or Joy, both of whom have better techniques among other things, but don't say that Irene "doesn't have the range of a vocalist" when she has the same range as vocal powerhouses Yuju, Hyerin and Reina.

No offense but I don't think Red Velvet when I think of rapping. They do some things great but personally, I don't equate them with solid rapping. I can't imagine some of their songs without the rap but I think they can do without it and still be great.
