    sm has a long history of buying awards and daesang, why are kpop fans still surprised in year 2022

    Its ridiculous, but so is every award show so no surprise

    JYP and SM are known to buy daesangs why are people surprised every time.

    this has been happening for so long exo winning daesang over big bang and taeyeon winning daesang over bts when everything was obvious


    if sm can block jessica, jyj, etc what is stopping them from buying awards.

    As if Korean award shows have not always been attendance award shows (except for KMA). But it has gotten worse since kpop fans give clout to every organization hosting their award show with 42 different awards each. Too late now, it is what it is

    Where are the big 4 stans that like to go around claiming if a company does one shady actions that automatically means every single group under them is also fraudulent? Guess this means Aespa, NCT and the rest of SM groups are all fake. Hm? Turning a blind eyes you say? Gee, who would have guessed that.

    We should all make our peace with the fact that daesangs go to a) whoever is willing to be present and b) also has a company willing to throw some won in the right direction.

    OP you should not be surprised since that is how big 3 works.SM really bought it.I will not be surprised if the LYW fans make an uproar.The rigging is super obvious.

    There have been so many examples proving how award shows are rigged for any artist. Awards don't go to who deserves them, they go to who will pay or who will attend/bring a bigger audience in. Why people still hold awards as important when they are so rigged is beyond me.

    but it's hilarious to see Dream stans lose their shit online because their faves are being "hated"...like sis just enjoy your bough "daesang" and cool it. Pretending like they're the most relevant group in Korea to defend them is just gonna make people roast them more. They shouldn't have won, we know it, you know it, they know it, it's a random meaningless award show so whatever. Artist of the year though....hahahahaha. I think the backlash would have been better if SM had been content with just AOTY, but no they had to go way over the top.

    The only daesangs EXO competed against BIGBANG was in 2015/early 2016 and they rightfully got the ones prioritizing physical sales/album release since Bigbang only released single albums this year and selling away less. So, is it a surprise?
