The 3mix had the show kind of loaded against them, in the sense that everybody and their aunt, knew that they were going to debut, so in one sense they had that advantage, so people did not like that, but they also had the sympathy that despite their very evident eligibility and missed debut, they were being put through the show, yet again with new trainees.

Of the 3mix or even among the whole of Twice, Nayeon does attract most eyes and more quickly, before others are considered and biases are formed. So naturally she got more focus - good or bad.

Twice individually all have a pretty strong image and attract, but it is not an accident that producers almost always put Nayeon in the centre - She embodies the group the best and is the quintessential idol - not the strongest vocalist, dancer, rapper or visual - but has the best balance of these skills as the best idol.

Nayeon was definitely the main character along with Jihyo and Jeongyeon. I think everyone knew these three were gonna debut, imo the show was created to test their skills and choose the remaining members.

TWICE was made up of the 7 most popular members throughout Sixteen, JYPE basically added JiHyo and Momo, the Main Vocal and Main Dancer.

Nayeon did have the most experience in front of a camera but I'd argue that the main character was JiHyo due to her "chubbiness" and how she responded to it with her cover of All about the Bass
