I mean that happens here in the US too, but it's usually if the subject matter is similar to the tragedy or possibly set in the area it happened.

not even dramas but a lot of variety shows have cancelled their usual broadcast as well
it's purely as a matter of respect for the victims
It's a form of Entertainment during a period of National Mourning
So I just saw info that some channels informed that they won't broadcast dramas today, tomorrow etc.
I understand cancelling music shows & festivals, which is obvious you don't want to have people dancing and smiling in tv when such tragedy happened.
But in same time drama series should be broadcasted normally, it's already aftermath, so...
do those tv channels just want to live off someones tragedy?
This is normal here in Korea and in some Asian ccountries A contrast in comparison to the West like if something bad happens people acknowledge grieve and move on everything keeps marching on like nothing happened. But over here anything serious happens? The entire country grinds to a halt for a designated amount of time for grieving.
Maybe tragedies hold abit more weight in our society compared to others?
I'm sure everyone is sad 😭 that many innocent souls lost their lives in a very wrong and careless way.
