If you witnessed your favorite idols doing something questionable, would you try to make it a controversy?

Cause whenever there's a controversy it's obviously spread by people who were big fans of that group or idol. There's no way non-fans or casual fans would be watching a completely random livestream, much less screen recording a video of that random livestream. Non-fans/casual fans also wouldn't be watching fan-taken videos of idols just sitting or walking somewhere.

So then why do hardcore fans feel the desire to make an issue of it when their favorite idols do something questionable - do they feel especially upset because they feel betrayed as a longtime fan? Do they want to make drama/gossip, even if it is their faves?

No, and I wouldn't do that no matter who it was. Their lives are hard enough, I don't need to make them even worse. I'll make an exception for the really bad stuff like criminal activities, but for normal, everyday behavior? No way.

pretty sure we often hear about haters and trolls on live streams leaving hate comments to get a reaction from Idols tho

you sure that haters don't watch the idols they hate to make a controversy?

how do you explain hate comments on instagrams and such, do you think all those comments are from fans as well?

So 4/5 people (1 is me) voted No regardless of the person, I guess that sounds about right. I also don't use social media and I can't imagine typing up a post trying to cancel someone. (On a similar note, I also don't understand people who upvote and downvote comments on Reddit as if it makes them feel so much agreement or anger)

However, I was thinking about if there's any situation where I would do that. And I can think of maybe if they said something that's particularly interesting, like if they talked negatively about other idols or if they talked about the behind-the-scenes of idol life. Basically if it was actually interesting then I might try to share it online. But not for the purpose of making them to be a bad person, more like "Wow I can't believe he/she said this".

So that's why I voted "Depends"

Like I can't imagine making a post with the intention of calling someone a bad person, but more to highlight something interesting that they said/did.

Ex.) PK skips an ad for Lalisa : no

PK smacks a member so hard it causes internal bleeding : no

PK dating evidence: Maybe

(4 years in the future) PK says "Idols have it so easy these days": Probably

favouritism - nepotism is not illegal per se...

like most people she can certainly try but I highly doubt her "taking care of" abilities
