Many 4th gen girls are praised for their looks, they are beautiful and known by kpop fans in general... you can't deny Karina, Winter, Ryujin, Yeji, Yujin, Kazuha, Minjin fame, but there is only one it girl in 4th generation, and I don't have to name her to people know who Iam talking about, it's so obvious it's even funny to see fandons fighting over it

Remove the qualifers and all proclamations of IT girl here and there and it all just looks silly as long as IU exists and is active, if theres a wall between wonyoung and other 4th gen girls, then there's the moon between IU and anyone else in korea.

Just check AKP or any forum, most discussions about any achievement in kpop will have words like "Other than IU, except for IU, not including IU, barring IU" etc.
So it is kind of implicit that all these debates are only applicable, when she is not in play.

That's because people always try and force IU into the conversations where people are obviously discussing idols. Literally every other it girl is or started as an idol: Jennie,Yoona, Suzy, Seolhyun, Irene etc. ALL IDOLS. And, no, being a solo artist doesn't count. The other thing too is while IU is considered pretty, she isn't top visual level like the other it girls. She just doesn't fit the it girl image at all. If anything, she is more of a "girl next door' type. Laslty, being an it girl doesn't just boil down to popularity, it's a mixture of many things like the some I mentioned.

She literally doesn't even have as much impact as rookie Jennie did lol.
Strawberry girl is 4 years into her career and helped Innisfree tank in sales meanwhile Jennie boosts brands by atleast 50%.
Enough of IT girl talk there's no such thing of 2nd gen, 3rd, 4th BS there can only be one active It girl and that is Jennie.

Jennie in my opnion is the biggest "it girl" from the names mentioned here, more than IU, but she is also not a top visual, Jisoo still fit more the standards

if people want to say who is a it girl or not then they will just have her and Wony nowadays to beat IU
