RE: Why does BTS get treated differently????

  • OP

    Simple.

Because Billboard owns those charts and the day they can't push who they want and make their payola is the day it becomes "unfair" chart manipulation. Who is it unfair to? Billboard, of course.

  • Bb is really fucking annoying, you can tell they don’t like bts found a way to succeed so much. I can’t with them trying to minimize sales impact but not radio. I don’t know anyone under 30 who listens to radio for popular music…

Yea, it's kinda obvious. It's their bread and butter though. They're in the business to make money. The biggest issue I have is them trying pretend they are some fair and unbiased source. What a stinking heap of bullshit - and I'm afraid some people eating it up

  • I believe I have talked about this before. As a person that lives in the U.S, most songs on the radio are not requested by us, we only get occasional ones when some really old popular songs are played the radio(for example toxic by britney spears).

A lot of us don't have control over it and we are just fed it. It's kind of how like in Fahrenheit 451 people are fed info through tv walls without control over that info.

So yeah, radio is def not a reliable source, don't know why they still consider it a main part in the chart.

Not only that, artists who have songs that aren't in English have a hard time getting the songs even if they are popular on the radio cus of we all know what.

  • BTS won't play their game and they still have huge success unlike any other artist while doing so, so BB's gonna be a petulant child and talk down about them at every chance. The way they aren't even subtle tho is pretty mind blowing, that so called professionals in a billion dollar industry openly act this way to punish those who won't fall in line and there's nothing that can be done about it is very depressing.

  • Billboard's parent company also owns Nielsen (the company that provides the data for billboard charting). Nielsen has contracts with radio companies (etc.) to track their data. This is why non local acts NEED the support of the local music industry to be treated the same as local acts.

  • Don't care about what an unknown journalist in BB says when BTS have been the TOP artists who contributes in revenue to these giant labels like COLUMBIA RECORDS when they were with them & UMG even before BTS signed with them (with 'only' their Japan distribution) beating out these big western artists that BB is very biased of. And they did it all without FULL US label support, so I think those 4 versions are nothing compared to what BTS brings into the table. And now there's no back talk with their 2 versions only.
