BTS DOMINANCE IN BILLBOARD STREAMING CHART

  • Biggest debuts on Billboard Streaming Chart by Korean act:

    1. BTS - Dynamite (33.9M)

    2. BTS - Butter (32.2M)

    3. BTS - Boy With Luv (30M)

    4. BTS - Fake Love (27.4M)

    5. BTS - IDOL (24.4M)

    6. BTS - ON (18.3M)

    6. BLACKPINK - Ice Cream (18.3M)

    7. BTS - Savage Love Remix (16M)

    8. BTS - Permission to Dance (15.9M)

    9. BTS - Life Goes On (14.9M)

    10. BLACKPINK - Pink Venom (14.3M)

Note: It's crazy how their 2018 & 2019 KOREAN songs have amassed so many streams.

  • Dynamite would have done way better if it was released in 2018. Back then Yourube still counted more towards the streaming charts. Now it’s heavily downgraded unless it’s premium. That’s unfortunate.

    Dynamite would have done 50M.

Also it’s great to point out that with over 30M streams dynamite would have debuted at number 1 without sales on a normal billboard chart week. Sadly dynamite was released in a time when the charts were insanely strong with WAP pulling 600 points each week, that’s close to pulling 4x the points of the current track at number 1 right now.

That’s why Dynamite and WAP have the biggest hot 100 scores this decade with WAP doing 800 points on its biggest week and dynamite doing over 700 points on its biggest week

  • Yes. Should've noted that. Dynamite actually did 800+ points then WAP 900+ points in it's biggest week. I also agree with YouTube premium. WAP did a lot of points due to the huge boost of YouTube views from premium accounts. Regardless, BTS proved that they can adapt to changes.

When BTS had their first #1 on BB hot 100- I remember how fun and amazing it was waiting for chart predictions. And despite the tight competition between Dynamite and WAP it still is crazy fun to watch how it all unfolds. And when BB officially announced that DYNAMITE went number 1- my tl on twitter is soooo fired up. It's so nostalgic remembering that era.

    ICONIC 😌

Side Note: That was before Butter. And now, BTS have 2 songs (Dynamite & Butter) with biggest weekly points.

Note: Can we also applaud BTS for being able to compete with viral songs? Dynamite contested with WAP and Butter with Good 4 U. All are insanely viral everywhere yet BTS managed to compete with streams and sales on chart. Amazing.

  • SLR being everywhere ^^

It also did well in Korean charts 😁 BTS really dominated in 2020.

A remix of an already released song by a western artist did so well in kcharts. It even peaked at #7 on melon daily chart.

  • As an On army, I'm glad ON is there despite non-fans dismissing that song for flopping....

    :pepe-smug::pepe-smug::pepe-smug:

It 'underperformed' for BTS standards but it did not flopped. You know stans will say how a song is a flop because it didn't hit number 1. Or the shallow reason of flopping because it didn't broke records on YouTube 💀

But ON actually did 645,060 uls on melon charts and peaked at #2. It was blocked by Any Song - Zico which is like a viral tiktok hit in Korea at that time. It also debuted at #4 on bb hot 100. And despite it being experimental track it still did good on charts.

Like the stark contrast of Boy With Luv (prior to ON release) & ON is crazy. It just shows that BTS is not like other artists who only stick with ONE formula to get a hit. Another sample is when they had a huge global hit with Dynamite yet they followed it with a ballad song 'LGO'.

Or when they released Butter last year and decided to release yet another ballad 'Yet To Come' as a title track. That's why you see many kpop fans clowning BTS everytime they 'underperformed' or didn't break their previous record. Yet BTS always come through after that and surpass their previous records 😂

At this point, don't give these people any mind. BTS is a legendary group and they don't need to prove anything after achieving the HEIGHT or PEAK that ANY kpop groups haven't achieved yet. Their accolades and accomplishments speak louder than antis/haters mouth.

  • It’s amazing armys did close to 400 points with only streams and sales and no radioplay.
