I feel like Twice are starting to put group comebacks on the back burner.

  • Just look at the scheduler for Pop! compared to Talk That Talk. I actually don't have an issue with this, Twice is a seven-year-old group at this point. I think it's time to invest more in solo activities than group comebacks. I think these small, short, group comebacks in between solo activities for ot9 fans is fine. I would much rather have a short group comeback once a year while the girls focus on solo stuff than have Twice go on an indefinite hiatus.

  • I think we can have a healthy combination of both. OT9 means a lot of the members, they always bring it up, we need group comebacks not just for our sake but for their sake as well.

Yeah. I can't see Twice going on a long hiatus from group activities like Girls Generation for example. But I have a feeling next year is the year Twice will really be diving into solo activities considering they just finished a world tour and renewed their contracts. I want them to find a balance between group activities and solo stuff without getting overworked. Which is why I like the idea of a once a year comebacks with short promo periods.

  • But I also think we have to factor in that they had their world tour until May. So it's also not really a surprise that they waited until they were done with their rather short tour and resumed promoting as artists.

If it was any other year, then I would agree more.

I see your point. But the pre-promo period for Talk That Talk is so short compared to their previous comebacks. And in the past Twice managed to squeeze in several comebacks after tours. We all know JYPE is greedy as fuck and would absolutely add in another week of teasers to make sure Twice gathered more revenue. It makes me think that shorter promotional periods for their comebacks was in their revised contract to make room for solo stuff.

  • There's been no indication that this will be a "short" comeback. The comeback doesn't begin until the song drops, and we haven't seen their schedule yet. Releasing a superfluous amount of teasers beforehand would do little to garner extra interest. They've also given no indication that group comebacks won't continue to take priority (as they should.) While they may be less frequent than before, the only reason this is their first comeback of the year is due to a lengthy tour and Nayeon's solo being squished in between. If anything, they demanded a quick turnaround for Nayeon in order to get a group comeback out ASAP, which is the opposite of what you're proposing.
