The way they launched the girls was really risky. It relied solely on the song and the girl's performances. We didn't get individually introduced to the girls through teasers, nor did they have any famous members. There was no hype, just dropped out of nowhere. If the songs hadn't been good, or the members lacking it would have completely failed.
Adore took a big risk on NewJeans

they were confident about the song, concept and the girls' charms and they were proven right!

It was love at first listen for me.

i think it was all very calculated. i mean, the girls are pretty and they all fit into looks that are pretty trendy in sk. all are talented performers. and min heejin knew the songs were good. she'd been sitting on at least one of these tracks for years . i think to ador, this wasn't a risk. it was a tactic to get all eyes on newjeans in an instant. and it worked like they predicted.

I remember the Attention MV coming up on my feed and being super puzzled by its existence, not to mention the 90 second 'prologue' before the song. But as soon as the chorus of Attentioooooooon hit, none of that mattered. That transition from utter confusion to blissful "oh fuck what are these CHORDS" made a huge impression.
