Yes, obviously, as they should be. It drives me absolutely crazy when people compare artists against the best in the field. Like no duh the nugu group didn't outsell BTS. No duh the soloist from the mid-tier group didn't chart better than IU.

We should compare artists to their past successes and/or to expectations. Yena is doing amazing selling 100K with her second album. It's not better than Taeyeon, but it doesn't need to be. If the company is smart, they aren't spending more than their artist can reasonably recoup anyway.

For BLACKPINK if they don’t hit #1 the song is a flop.

For LOONA if they manage to even break the top 200 Orbits call it the song of the year.

For BTS if they don’t go #1 Armys will brag about it international achievements
