Does ITZY Ryujin have IT girl potential?

    It seems like back when ITZY was in its debut days, she was the center and had all the hype among fans and casual fans, but nowadays all the hype has died down. Yeji and Yuna seem to have more hype, and discussions with Chaeryeong also have more engagement.


    What happened? She used to more popular and during MixNine days as well. She's got the visuals, talents, and personality, and shes in a BIG 3 company as well. Why does it seem like there's less hype in recent years? Not like she's struggling or anything like that, but it seems like there were higher expectations from what we've seen in their debut days.

    I disagree tho. At debut Yeji had all the hype around her, after wannabe, Ryujin's popularity explosed but this last year yeji has been regaining her hype. After mafia in the morning, Yuna became even more popular. But Ryujin is still the most popular from my observation.


    Imo, itzy has 3 potential it girls : Ryujin, Yeji and Yuna. But jyp never promotes them. Their songs are also not the most loved by the gp. I think this plays a big role because now we have all those new gg debuting with interesting members but their advantage is that their songs are loved by the gp (ive, Lesserafim, aespa).

    If you think you have 3 it girls, then you have none. There's a reason why it girls are it girls. They stand out and they are different from the pack. Itzy has popular girls, but they're not on that level

    That’s not how it works with JYP. Tzuyu was the most hyped idol and JYP fumbled the bag. Only nayeon has enough hype to still stay popular. Sullyoon could be the trendiest girl but JYP will never capitalize the hype.

    I feel like I was the only one who never got Ryujin jype. I never liked her visuals and I just never cared about her at all but people kept hyping her up. I'm not surprised now that the dust has settled she's faded from the spotlight compared to other members.


    Yuna and Yeji are prettier than her, hell even Lia imho.

    Yejin and Chaeryoung is a better dancer than her imho.

    She’s not a versatile performer. She suits darker girl crush concepts well but so do Yeji and Yuna and those two far outshine her when it comes to Itzy’s bread and butter—teen crush. They have a lot more it girl potential but truthfully, I don’t think anyone in Itzy will become an It girl if JYP keeps this awful management style.

    Not in ITZY but like with Hwasa if she releases good solos and like with Hwasa speaks her mind and stays true to herself the general public will pick up on that and she could grow more popular

    I can understand the other points, but IMO, she‘s the best dancer in Itzy. There’s a difference between copying/memorizing a dance, versus actually dancing because you know and feel the song/beats. There’s a clip of her dancing on knowing brothers to Sujus and Shinee song. If you would follow the lyrics, the beats, and how she expressed it, its really impressive.


    Especially the Shinee song, it’s just so impressive how she displayed it. The small pause where she raised her hands behind her head when they sings ‘Im no longer your love, erase it’, that erasing/forgetting motion was so on point, had to rewatch it.
