Like are first day sales just the preorders that people actually received? Or are they like…. New purchases after the pre-orders were placed?
Are first day sales separate or included with preorders?

The number Hanteo reports is the delivered albums. So obviously big portion of those stores sales are pre-orders since the po is delivered first.
Also if we’re talking about stock pre-orders that the companies report then it’s all the sales till they restock. The stores themselves pre-order from the company ie all their albums are stock pre-orders which means all Hanteo sales of each store is part of the stores’ stock pre-orders. When it’s out of stock in different stores and those stores order more THEN the sales exceeds/overlap with the p.o number.

if pre-order number would be 1.5M for example
then shops might not even be able to pack those shipments and sent them on 1st day
in same time tho people still might go to normal music shops in Korea which are affiliated to Hanteo and buy those albums normal way
so 1st day sales are a mix of both pre-orders + normal sales
