    1. [+610, -150] I think it's good to see that she's someone who's brave enough to apologize and truly reflect on herself instead of trying to bury the whole thing... Everyone makes mistakes but it's how you handle those mistakes that show your true colors as a person. I understand the urge to want to hide behind excuses and a good image but it only takes one mistake like this for strangers to view you as someone bad, so I hope she doesn't feel despair in it all and overcomes it in the end!

    2. [+416, -42] It's not like her scandal had anything to do with drugs, drunk driving, or any crime, so I think it's worth believing in her again since she's written two apologies and admitted to her mistakes. Other criminals are out there without a word of apology, creeping back into TV shows... At least Irene seems like a good person at the core of it so I support her and hope she shows a better image in the future.

    3. [+385, -73] Missed you, Irene. Please stay healthy.

    4. [+324, -27] It's a well written apology... I hope she reflects for a long time and doesn't make the same mistake again! I support you!! Can't wait to hear Red Velvet's new song.

    5. [+298, -16] I think it's brave of her to admit to her mistake and apologize again and again. It feels truthful. I'll be supporting her and looking forward to her future.

    6. [+143, -4] People who are going to hate will hate no matter what. They'll hate even if you apologize, hate if you don't, hate if you handwrite your apology, hate if you upload it as a text document. They all live in the illusion that they're fighting for justice because they're morally superior.

    7. [+134, -4] It's a well written apology

    8. [+125, -2] It's good to see that she's truly reflecting instead of trying to bury her mistake. I hope that people will stop the harsh criticisms and rumors against her, as well as the gifs taken out of context. I hope that this doesn't happen again.

    9. [+127, -7] Irene has apologized for all that she has had to. She apologized to the editor face to face and apologized to the public through Instagram, and again for the third time through her fans on her fancafe. Has there ever been another celebrity who has apologized this many times?

    10. [+120, -3] I think it shows a lot of growth that she was willing to admit to her mistake, reflect, and resolve to never make it again. Everyone makes mistakes. I hope she receives a lot of luck in the New Year and I'll be looking forward to an improved Irene in the future.

  • I will never stop being salty about koreans overreacting and making it seem worst than it actually was... it's not like she killed someone or did something unforgettable. Here in italy we have criminals appearing in tv every day and they still have fans.

  • Her apology seems sincere instead of the other one. Also I think that both Irene hardcore stans who still deny this and people who try to revive this scandal would just stop. I think knetizens seem more understanding since she never actually adressed the whol controversy and now she finally did it

  • Good for her. This seems like a sincere letter of reflection.

If those that promote the idea of socially enforced mass criticism to enact desired change don't find this adequate I don't know that they will ever be satisfied with her.

To me it strikes me as someone who has sincerely thought about their actions and how they might improve and move forward.

I was never one to cancel or be massively critical of Irene. I was disappointed as I think treatment of underlings is an important marker of character. But her addressing it and making amends with the other person. As well as following her initial apology up with a statement like this that reflects on their mistakes and pledges to do better and seems sincere. That's indication to me that she's someone who has made steps and indicated they wish to change.

As a fan that's as much as one could ask for.

We all have flaws. Failures. Times we are unfair or mean. If one can't find redemption from mistakes it really seems a more pitiful and bleak world. One I don't want to live in.

Irene seems to want to find that redemption and go forward as a more thoughtful Bae Juhyun.

As a fan I'm proud of her. And wish her the best in that journey.
