She just said that "Hold my hand" is the song easiest for her to sing.
It is probably her most covered song in recent years, and most recently Queendom 2 vocal round winner.
She is not a belter, but if she finds this the easiest, then maybe she is underestimated as a vocalist.

She is not a belter, but if she finds this the easiest, then maybe she is underestimated as a vocalist.
Lee Jieun is no match against belters like Hyolyn and Yuju.
However, belters are good at stage but don't have too much repeat listening power.
Lee jieun's voice has repeat listening power like Nana Mouskouri(a Greek singer, less known in USA but well known in Europe and Asia) and Karen Carpenter, famous soft-style singers during 1970s.
It is unfortunate that Lee JIeun prefers to sing songs with lyrics by herself, since she singing older style easier listening pop would probably attract older fans in the West, where success has been so elusive to her.
Now Kakao owns Edam, I do think they should make her sing older pop great, like Hey Jude, Bridge over troubled water, or some Carpenters hits, and release "Flower Bookmark - World Edition", and see how far she goes with it outside of K-O-R-E-A. I think Sir Paul McCartney will agree to let the ex-owner of Edam use his songs to counter a certain act from Hybe.

She has done few English covers, recently attempted SEVENTEEN's Darl+ing. I suppose all singers necessarily have a talent to reproduce sounds, even if they are involved in the lyrics. She could do so as well.
But the question is always "Does she need to"?
It is not as though she is a struggling group, who has to try anywhere and everywhere OR her quantum of success in Korea, anything less than resplendent.
At most, her fans would like to see her shine further and farther, but that need not be her own goals.
But if she chooses to, then what you suggest is a good starting point. Seems American Rappers are into her and Jay Park can return the favour with his connections.
Corinne Bailey Rae though less active, can help.
Anyway, she seems busy with her acting promotions now. We will what the future brings.
My wish is that she collaborates with some serious musicians like Jacob Collier, rather than just the popular ones.

I personally think she will probably do that once her popularity begins to wane since she did send her brother , who acts as if he doesn't like her but knows where his lifestyle is coming from , to USA to study. (She even took time during the filming of Hyori's Homestay to see her brother in USA.) He is likely to handle her foreign affairs once he is done with his studies.
However you are right on that aspect - since she is still quite successful in Korea there would be no time for her to pursue foreign activities at this point of time.
I do see Jacob Collier born Aug 02 1994, actually younger than her by 1 year (or 1,315 years). So , yes if she is interested there is a chance for a collabo.
(She also got Ryan Jhun, who composed Celebrity, as one of her connections as well.)
