how have you dealt with a toxic work environment?

By keeping my head down, avoiding the toxic people as much as possible, and working hard.
I've found that there are two results. As long as you produce quality work, you either outlast the toxic elements there, or you get enough experience under your belt to get a better job in a better environment.
It's basically an endurance match at that point. Just have to run the marathon, and keep at it.

said good morning and received an eye roll and blank stares and a couple of good mornings back and it broke my heart.

You unfortunately can't control other people. People can be cruel, or people can just have a bad morning.
All you need to do is to be you. If they don't accept that, then they're not worth the trouble. You don't need their validation. Just keep being you.

I was trying to endure, but every day was just a nightmare, even on weekends I was still feeling scared tbh. Quitting was the best option for me then. And in addition, I had therapy, which is also a great help that I can truly recommend. Leaving & therapy helped me personally to find a better place to work. Sometimes it's not worth your health to stay in such a place, and you can't really change the people around you... but everything depends on your situation, so I don't think I can give valuable advice without specifics. Hope your situation will get better soon! Wishing you all the strength and health to deal with it, eventually you will find a better place for yourself for sure

I did the exact same, my work environment wasn’t personally toxic but I’ve seen some things and my attitude towards it was to just not get involved and treat people equally. Did I miss on networking? Probably lol but idk I do like keeping personal life/work very separated.

My only problem now is a coworker that never stops talking
I dealt with it already, I gave up and let him talk.
I don't even bother with being very productive anymore.
He will still talk for hours, but i'll be relaxed anyway so it's not my problem anymore.
This is my curse, my gift, my problem.
Who am I? I missed the part where that's my problem.

Talk to a manager you trust to be reasonable or if you’re strong enough address issues openly during staff meeting, many might actually be happy that someone opens a dialogue
If that does not work try to keep interaction w toxic people at a minimum, find the people you do like to vent and find fun with
If you need this job for your career eg PhD - student, try to endure
Else LEAVE
